Topeka woman plans place for pets that need special care

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Tender Loving Care Pet Nursing Hotel held its ground breaking Tuesday. It will be Topeka's first and only 24-hour pet hotel, creating a home away from home for the elderly, sick, or recovering cats and dogs with non-communicable diseases.

The pet nursing hotel will offer daycare, overnight boarding, and long-term care options, enabling pet parents to go to work or on a trip

Leslie Flueranges, founder of TLC, recognized a gap in the pet health care sector and decided to act upon the need to provide customized and compassionate care for older and ailing pets.

"I am proud to offer this new, innovative service in my adopted home of Topeka," said Flueranges. "As a devoted pet parent, I know how important it is to give our furry family members the best care possible. Many pet parents in Topeka and surrounding areas have sick or older pets, and I want them to have peace of mind knowing that their treasured pets are receiving the special care they need."

TLC is staffed by veterinary nurses who are committed to exceeding expectations for aging, recovering, and end-of life care for pets, while providing peace of mind for pet parents.

"This is a dream that I had for the last six years, and that is to care for older, sick, special needs pets. It's a need that is out there that no one is addressing, this is the ideal market to open something like this," Flueranges said.

TLC plans to open to the public this December. To find more information, click here
