TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) --- One woman suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning when the mail truck she was driving rolled onto its side in north Shawnee Co.

The U.S. Postal Service box truck crashed around 11:30 a.m. in the 6000 block of N US-75. No other vehicles were involved.

The woman was the only person in the vehicle at the time. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office, the truck was empty at the time of the wreck - except for more than two dozen baby chicks, who are reportedly doing okay.

Also, uninjured was a dog that was riding in the truck. The Sheriff's Office says it was checked out and is fine.
