WAKARUSA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Glacier's Edge, a winery in Wakarusa, is celebrating their fifth anniversary. They are doing so with a building expansion and an upgraded menu. They also had a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, May 24.
Glacier's Edge originally opened in 2013 with a small wine selection and a small building. As of today, they have added 2,000 square feet to their property and 14 new wines to their selection.
The owners, Mike and Lisa Steinert, say that one of their goals is to help people learn about Kansas wines.
"Kansas can make awesome wines. We have great grapes we can grow here, we have wonderful fruit we can utilize," said Lisa Steinert. "That was part of our mission statement, we just want people to come and learn and have fun with us and learn about our products, just not at our winery, but for Kansas."
Mike Steinert said that they are looking at creating a sparkling cider for the fall.
