Wichita parents arrested for felony murder in death of 2-year-old

Wichita police arrested two people in the death of a two-year-old boy Friday morning.

Police say 28-year-old Patrick Javonovich and 22-year-old Brandi Marchant

for felony murder in the boy's death.

Officers were called to a domestic disturbance call around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday in the 4500 block of E. Hydraulic. They arrived to find Javonovich and Marchant walking back to the house.

Police say the couple was involved in a verbal disturbance and left a two-year-old and four-month-old in the house alone.

Officers entered the home to find the two-year-old unresponsive in a crib and the four-month-old in need of medical attention. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The infant was taken to the hospital to be treated and remains there.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
