Update: As of 8:40 p.m. Saturday. crews had completed the repair of the water main line on Connecticut Avenue and water pressure restored to normal.

Manhattan residents on Connecticut Avenue will experience low water pressure Saturday evening due to emergency water main repairs.

Around 4:15 p.m. Saturday afternoon, an employee with the Manhattan Public Works Department came upon a six inch water main that had broken and was sending water over 40 feet into the air on Connecticut Avenue, just off Anderson Avenue.

After some investigating, Public Works employees were able to shut down the water main around 5:45 p.m.

They said approximately 30 residences are affected by this and repairs will take at least an hour to complete.
