TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Washburn University joined in on the worldwide Week Without Violence with an afternoon poetry reading to speak out against domestic violence.

The session was preceded by a workshop last week, where the participants read the poetry they wrote, as well as what they wrote on their own. Others who weren't involved in the workshop were invited to read their poems and anyone could come and listen.

The reading was sponsored by the YWCA, Washburn's Sexual Assault Education and Prevention Office and their English Department.
