TOPEKA (WIBW)--- The Dean of Washburn Tech says he wants to be remembered as someone who made an impact on technical education.

A retirement reception was held Friday for Clark Coco.

Coco has been Dean of Washburn for seven years. Before that he was Pres., of North Central Kansas Technical College.

He says he took the job at Washburn Tech, to make an impact on anew generation of students and to educate legislatures about the importance of tech careers.

Dean Coco says he wants to remembered as an educator who wanted to make tech schools honorable and noble.

"If it's about students call me!" Coco said. "If it's about students and changing lives, you get my cell phone. A long time ago someone asked me why I got into education and I said I can't find better company to spend time with people."

Coco is now a council member in Glasgow, Kansas.
