TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - An area mom now has a new set of wheels thanks to some hardworking technical students!
Tuesday morning, Washburn Tech handed over the keys of a refurbished 2008 Chrysler Town and Country to Kayla Hupp, a mother of four.
The students and teachers spent countless hours fixing the car to get it running again, as part of a yearly tradition. The car then goes to someone in Topeka without reliable transportation.
"You know, we were not making appointments," Hupp. "We were having to reschedule things. It makes it to where we can make it. We can go to Kansas City now for Nathan's specialist appointments and do anything we need to do for these kids."
This is the 25th Recycled Ride Washburn Tech has rebuilt. State Farm donated the van.
