TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Washburn Rural Jr. Blues used a six-goal second half to beat Topeka High 7-2 Monday night.

The Trojans scored the game's first goal ten minutes in. Alani Snook sent a free kick from midfield into the box where Morgan Carranza one-touched the ball into the net.

Claire Meyers put Washburn Rural on the board before halftime, knotting the score at 1-1 at the break.

Rural exploded in the second half, scoring six times.

At halftime, Washburn Rural received a $20,000 donation from Big O Tires to pay for a soccer scoreboard upgrade. Dutch and Jacqui Tryon, owners of Big O, gave $10,000 to pay for the scoreboard and another $10,000 to the Auburn-Washburn Public School Foundation.

The Tryon's daughter, Kate, is a captain for the Jr. Blues soccer team.
