TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Washburn University art and theater majors were offering to make any clothing repairs the public needed Friday.
To raise funds for a trip to a Scottish arts festival, the students held a pop-up sewing shop. Anyone could bring their clothes they needed stitched up and leave them in the theater lobby.
The students are going to spend next semester creating their own production, which they will then perform at the well-known Edinburgh Fringe Festival next August.
“Oh, it'll be amazing,” Washburn Music Theater Major Peter Sandquist said. “A lot of the students are theater majors that are going. To actually do their work on a global scale is truly amazing."
