Topeka Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Anderson welcomed everybody back by serving as a crossing guard at McCarter Elementary School.

Anderson said it's important to her to try and say hello to as many students as possible.

“I love to be one of the first faces they see from administration," she said. "To principals, to teachers, to say we love you and welcome back.”

Anderson said she will do crossing guard duty at each school over the next couple weeks.
