Two vehicle collision in South Shawnee Co. sends two to the hospital

SHAWNEE CO., Kan. (WIBW) Both drivers were taken to the hospital Tuesday morning following a rush-hour wreck that closed SW Topeka Blvd.

According to the Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office, the two vehicles collided around 7:15 a.m. at the SW University Blvd. intersection. Investigators say a blue Toyota Camry was heading north on Topeka Blvd. was struck by a southbound GMC Terrain that was turning left onto University Blvd.

The driver of the Camry, Sharon Frost, 62, of Berryton, and the driver of GMC Terrrain, Lisa Green, 49, of Topeka, each suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Both were reportedly wearing their seat belts at the time.

The Sheriff's Office says Green was cited for Failing to Yield the Right of Way.
