Two rescued from Kansas River in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) -- Two men were rescued from the chilly waters of the Kansas River Wednesday morning, after their boat overturned.

According to the Lawrence Police Department, just after 10:00a.m., emergency crews were called to Burcham Park in the 200 block of Indiana Street.

When they arrived in the area, officers found two men hanging on to their capsized boat in the river.

Lawrence Douglas County Fire and Medical went into the water and rescued the two.

Police could not say if the two were hurt. 13 NEWS has reached out to LDCFM for an update on their condition.
