TOPEKA (WIBW)-- A trial date is set for the woman charged in a wreck that claimed the lives of three members of a Sabetha family.

Maria Perez-Marquez pleaded not guilty to three counts of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of aggravated battery during a court hearing Friday in Jackson County.

A jury trial is set to begin May 1st. The charges stem from a November 2017 wreck on Highway 75 north of Holton.

Authorities say Perez-Marquez was attempting to pass another vehicle when she swerved into the shoulder and crashed into a minivan.

Carmen, Marlee and Stephen Ukele were killed.
