Transit companies offer free rides to polls

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- You don't need a car to get to the polls on Election Day.

Several companies are offering free rides to the polls for those who aren't able to get there by driving.

Topeka Metro is offering free rides until 7:30 p.m. on fixed routes. Paratransit riders are offered two free rides.

AtA in Manhattan is offering free rides as well, officials say routes may not service all polls, so riders should plan their trip accordingly.

UBER is offering free rides to app users, riders can simply put in the code VOTE2018 in order to ride for free. Users must have the most recent version of UBER in order to tale advantage of the code.

If you prefer LYFT, the ride sharing service will give riders a 50% discount in rides to the polls. Add the code VOTEKS in order to get the discount.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 6.
