TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) A traffic stop Wednesday evening in Topeka lead officers to investigate, revealing a passenger had drugs and a loaded gun on them.
At around 9:30 pm on Wednesday, Community Response Unit pulled a vehicle over in the 10th and SE Branner area.
Topeka Police say the driver had a revoked driver's license and a tag that did not belong on the vehicle. Officers also uncovered the passengers of the vehicle had warrants.
Officers found methamphetamines and a loaded gun on Valerie Riis, 30. Riis was arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and a warrant for her arrest.
This is the 28th felon in possession of a firearm case reported by the Topeka Police Department in 2019.
