WATCH: Tornado touches down near Sulphur, Oklahoma

SULPHUR, Okla. (KXII) - A Tornado touched down in Scullin for around 10 minutes Tuesday afternoon.

A tornado was spotted on the ground near Sulphur by KXII Lead Stormchaser Chad Vandever

The tornado was reported southwest of Scullin around 12:23 p.m. The tornado headed northeast at an approximate speed of 50 miles per hour. Around 12:29 p.m. the tornado crossed highway 7.

Around 12:30 the storm moved into Hickory, with the tornado still on the ground. The Mill Creek Fire Department reported the tornado lifted around 12:33 p.m.

There were no reports of major storm damage or injuries in the area.

A Tornado warning had been issued for Pontotoc County as the storm moved northeast. The National Weather Service allowed the warning to expire around 1 p.m. Spotters in Pontotoc County reported seeing the storm breaking apart around 1:05 p.m.
