Topeka’s St. Patrick's Day parade route set

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Get your green ready as many St. Patrick's Day festivities are quickly approaching including the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in downtown Topeka this Saturday.

Staging begins at 10:00a.m. at 4th and Kansas Ave.

The parade begins at noon and takes its typical route south on Kansas to 10th, then goes west to Jackson where it heads north back to 4th.

Organizers say entrants who try to start setting up before 10 a-m will get a ticket, and a voluntary contribution of $10 is suggested which will go to Lifehouse Child Advocacy Center.

The fun kicks off before the parade! Inspection for the 11th Annual Great Topeka Bed Race begins at 10th and Jackson at 8:00a.m. The race starts at 10:00a.m.

The 8th Mater Dei Irish fest begins with a breakfast at 8:00a.m. followed by a fun run and a day full of Irish food and music.
