TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The city of Topeka will have a new name come Saturday.
For the second time in history, the capital city will be renamed “ToPikachu” after the famous Pokemon for one day.
Topeka Mayor Michelle De La Isla made the proclamation at Tuesday’s city council meeting.
She says the re-brand will welcome Nintendo to Gage Park on Saturday.
The gaming company is bringing two trucks to sit outside the Topeka (or ToPikachu) Zoo where people can play their new game, “Pokemon Let’s Go.”
Topeka was last called ToPikachu 20 years ago in August 1998.
