Topeka man arrested for narcotic distribution

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office Drug Enforcement Unit and SWAT Team assisted the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on Friday with the service of a narcotic search warrant in the 1200 block of SW Medford that resulted in an arrest.

Alex Hidalgo, 32, of Topeka, was arrested and charges of narcotic distribution will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.

Officers seized methamphetamine, marijuana and firearms from the residence.

Three juveniles, including a seven month old and 2 four-year olds, were placed into police protective custody pending a hearing due to being in the environment where narcotics were located and used.
