TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Kansas Highway Patrol identify chase suspect who lead authorities through the streets of Topeka, ending when a trooper forced the fleeing driver to crash into three other parked vehicles.
KHP says the chase started in the area of 15th Street and Western when a trooper tried stopping Austin Cairns of Silver Lake. They say he is wanted in connection with multiple burglaries in Osage County.
KHP says the pursuit continued west on 6th Avenue. Authorities say the truck crossed into the eastbound lanes traveling in the wrong direction.
The trooper performed a tactical maneuver to end the chase, sending the vehicle crashing into three empty, parked vehicles. Cairns was taken into custody.
