TPD: Argument preceded Monday's homicide; Police don't expect any arrests
The Topeka Police Dept. has released new details about a late night shooting Monday that claimed the life of a Topeka man.
Investigators now say Matthew Lamont Gladney, 28, was involved in a verbal argument right before he was shot and killed.
Officers found Gladney in an alley after they responded just before midnight to reports of gunfire in the 500 block of SW Clay Street, near 6th Street. Gladney was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Authorities say they have identified and interviewed the people involved in the shooting. When they complete their investigation they will forward their report to the District Attorney, who will decide if they should press charges.
No arrests have been made so far and, police say, they don't expect there to be any arrests after the DA reviews the case.
