TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Topeka Civic Theatre held a special celebration Saturday evening to thank the hundreds of volunteers who bring their productions to life.
More than 500 volunteers work to contribute in a variety of ways to the Topeka Civic Theatre, doing everything from serving as the actors on stage, to building sets and making costumes, to working in the box office.
"These people deserve every bit of appreciation we can give them,” Vickie Brokke, president and CEO of the Topeka Civic Theatre, said.
The volunteers were recognized for the contributions at Saturday’s 39th annual Volunteers Awards Night.
“It's a night that we get dressed up, and we want them to feel all of the love that we can possibly give them,” Brokke said.
Tickets for next season's opening show go on sale next week. For more information their website.
