SHAWNEE, Kan. (WIBW) -- A chance is coming up to meet a couple of Kansas City Chiefs legends and bid for some cool autographed memorabilia, all while helping raise money for a great cause.
Tickets are now on sale for the second annual Special Olympics Kansas Memorabilia Auction. The event will be held on September 14 at the Shawnee Civic Center in Shawnee, Kansas. Doors open at 3:45 p.m.
Tickets are $10 and get you entry to the event, a bidder card, and food and beverages. All proceeds from the event go to Special Olympics Kansas.
Two Kansas City Chiefs Hall-of-Famers will be signing autographs at the auction. Former defensive end Neil Smith and "The Nigerian Nightmare" Christian Okoye will both be at the Shawnee Civic Center from 4-6 p.m. to kick off the auction.
Tickets for the autograph signings cost $20 per signee or $30 for the both of them.
A silent auction will also be going on throughout the autograph signings. After the signing session, the live auction will start at 6:15 p.m.
The auction, which is expected to go until 10 p.m., will feature autographed items from sports, movies, and music.
Notable items included in the auction:
- a guitar autographed by country music singer Eric Church
- a Patrick Mahomes autographed full size replica helmet
- a George Brett autographed jersey
- a Mike Tyson autographed boxing glove
- a “Tombstone” photograph autographed by Sam Elliott, Val Kilmer, Kurt Russell and Bill Paxton
