TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The City of Topeka's new neighborhood renovations program has moved into Ward Meade The "Team Up to Clean Up" crews focused on fixing up hydrants and replacing water meters on Wednesday.
The initiative focuses on utility and infrastructure improvements in neighborhoods that identify as most in need. Ward Meade is the fourth neighborhood that TUCU has targeted have overall.
"It's really nice to see how the neighborhoods can improve and look at whats new, so the streets get potholes filled. They get new things. So, it's nice to see the neighborhood get a face lift and for the neighborhood to come together and help each other as well," City of Topeka spokesperson Molly Hadfield said.
Their community partners will assist city crews in the two-month makeover and will work in Ward Meade neighborhood through October.
