One killed in Topeka apartment fire

One person died in a Topeka apartment fire Sunday afternoon.
Topeka fire crews were called to an apartment building at 722 SW Taylor at 2 p.m. on reports on heavy smoke coming from inside.
TFD says firefighters found two injured adults in the damage. One was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries and one was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Red Cross will assist ten more people displaced from the ten apartment structure.
No smoke detectors were sounding in the apartment, TFD says.
The fire is two blocks away from another apartment fire

The cause of the fire is still unknown. TFD is still investigating.
