TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a Thursday evening shooting at a Topeka apartment complex.

Trevon Leson Williams was booked into the Shawnee Co. jail on counts of aggravated battery and criminal damage of a firearm, the Topeka Police Dept. says. He is being held without bond, jail records indicate.

According to police, officers were called to the Raintree Apartments, in the 3500 block fof SW 29th Street, shortly after 7:30 p.m. on reports of gunshots in the area. While they were there, two shooting victims arrived at an area hospital via a private vehicle.

TPD did not release the shooting victims’ names, only saying they were a juvenile male and juvenile female.

Investigators determined the shooting stemmed from a drug deal. They were later able to find and arrest Williams.

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Topeka Police Dept. Criminal Investigation Bureau at 785-368-9400 or Shawnee Co. Crime Stoppers at 785-234-0007. Tips can also be made anonymously online at www.p3tips.com/128.
