TPS hosts first Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Symposium

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka Public Schools is hosting its first ever Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Symposium this Thursday, Februray 22.

The event will feature presentations and breakout sessions led by local leaders and organizations about these topics.

TPS is a nationally recognized leader in Trauma Informed Care, and aims to provide information about availible mental health and suicide prevention resources for families, educators and community members.

Along with resources, the symposium is an effort to expand knowledge about how these issues are impacting today's youth.

The event is from 4-7 p.m. at Topeka High School (800 SW 10th).

It is free and open to the public.
