TPD releases name of woman killed in Monday crash

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Topeka Police Dept. released the name of the person killed in a Monday afternoon crash in southeast Topeka.

Cornelia M. Moon died in the two-vehicle wreck, which happened just after 3 p.m. at the intersection of SE 21st and Washington Streets, TPD said.

The 80-year-old Moon was behind the wheel of one of the vehicles. Her passenger, Ernest E. Mildfeldt, was rushed to hospital in critical condition and is reportedly stable now.

The driver of the other vehicle, whose name was not released, was not injured in the crash.

The wreck closed the stretch of 21st Street from SE Virginia Ave. to Kentucky Ave. while TPD investigated.
