TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Topeka Police say a woman suffered a minor injury in a shooting in southeast Topeka.
Officers were called around 7:30 p.m. to the 2400 block of SE Bellview, in the Highland Park area.
Lt. Jerry Monasmith said it is believed the situation began with a disturbance that led to the gunshots. He described the woman's injury as a "grazing." She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
Detectives and crime scene investigators remained in the area, looking for evidence and talking to people in the area. Monasmith said they had located a few shell casings.
At this point, Monasmith said they had no information on a potential suspect or suspects.
