TPD identifies trio arrested in raid on central Topeka home

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — The Topeka Police Dept. released the names of the three people arrested Tuesday after local and federal authorities raided a central Topeka home.

On Wednesday morning, they identified the trio and listed the counts against them as:

  • Billie Bennett: Possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia;
  • Matt Teran: Possession of a stolen firearm;
  • Hassan Thomas: Wanted on one felony warrant and two misdemeanor warrants

All three of them are being held without bond, jail records show.

On Tuesday, members of the Topeka Police Dept., Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office, and the DEA raided a home in the 1700 block of Quincy Street. Some of officers at the home were seen wearing tactical equipment and TPD brought in their armored vehicle.

At one point, up to six people were seen in handcuffs.

Later Wednesday, authorities released information on a pair of unrelated raids that took place on Monday that led to the arrest of two people.
