TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — One man is behind bars in connection to mail theft and other crimes committed in the southwest part of the Capital City.

The Topeka Police Dept. says they arrested Joshua Carpenter Thursday afternoon.

TPD says Carpenter, 29, was identified as a person of interest in a mail theft investigation that involved at least sixty different victims, as well as other crimes.

He is facing burglary, forgery, criminal use of a financial card and criminal damage of property counts.

Officials say this serves as a good reminder to always remove mail from your mailbox and report any suspicious activity if you see someone snooping through your neighbor's mailboxes.
