Jury duty -- it's a responsibility everyone must adhere to, even if you preside over the Kansas Supreme Court.

Chief Justice Lawton Nuss tweeted a picture Tuesday after reporting for jury duty at the Shawnee County Courthouse.

He's photoed with Shawnee County District Court Jury Coordinator Carol Bausch.

Nuss wrote in the caption "My jury duty today (at the Shawnee County courthouse) is one I proudly share with all Kansas adults. Justice in Kansas."

Nuss posted the photo after he learned that his service was not needed. The defendant pleaded guilty shortly after jury orientation wrapped up.
