TOPEKA (WIBW)--- Standout students were recognized for their hard work throughout high school.
The Topeka Community Foundation held its 36th annual Foundation Scholarship Awards.
More than 90 high school scholarship recipients met the donors who are making their higher education dreams possible.
The foundation awarded more than $120-thousand in scholarship money this year.
TCF President Marsha Pope says it's a win, win for Topeka and the state.
"Kids come here and they say we have your letter on our refrigerator at home, it's just something about being selected by someone who's not your mom, not your teacher, their not your family," Pope said. "An independent pool selected them as the winner for a scholarship, so we're just here to celebrate and for a lot of great reasons tonight."
Some of the scholarships range from nursing to athletics.
