Sheriff's Office investigating skeletal remains near Kaw River State Park

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office is investigating possible skeletal remains found in a wooded area near Kaw River State Park.

Deputies were on the scene at 10 p.m. Monday near the KS Dept. of Wildlife and Parks, north of SW 6th and Wanamaker.

Authorities say they have no indication yet if what was found is human, or a wild animal. Deputies will secure the scene until Tuesday morning, when they can get a better look to investigate.
