TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The investigation into the death of a 4-year-old girl is still ongoing.

Investigators from the Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office and the county coroner's office have talked to witnesses and are still processing the scene in Silver Lake. The coroner's office is trying to determine a medical cause of her death. Authorities say they will not be able to determine whether any foul play was involved until the coroner makes a determination on cause of death.

According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the home, in the 300 block of S. Masche St., on reports of an unresponsive child. Medical crews pronounced her dead at the scene.

The name of the girl has not been released.

Because her death is still under investigation, the Sheriff's Office said it does not plan to release any other information at this time.

In additions to Sheriff's deputies, members of the Silver Lake Fire Dept., AMR, and the Silver Lake Police Dept. responded to the home.
