TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A family visit caused a bit of a traffic problem in one Topeka neighborhood.

A semi driver pulling into the east end of the First Christian Church parking lot clipped some power lines and snapped a pole.

The lines came down on the truck, trapping the driver inside.

Topeka Police said they waited for Westar to cut power to the area so the driver could get out safely.

An officer told 13 News that the semi driver had permission to park his truck in the church's parking lot while he spent the night at his brother's home.

SW Stone St. from 18th to 19th was closed as they cleared the scene.

According to Westar's outage map, fewer than five customers were without power as of 6:50 p.m.
