Authorities say a 21-year-old truck driver was killed when his tractor-trailer rig crashed at the Hwy. 75 interchange with Hwy. 24 on the north edge of Topeka early Friday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says just before 6 a.m., Dustin Seitz of Lexington, MO was driving north on US-75 when his semi crossed the median and both southbound lanes before going down an embankment and landing on the shoulder of eastbound Hwy. 24.

Officials continued investigating the reason the truck went off the road.

Seitz was pronounced dead at the scene.

Eastbound US-24 from Highway 75 to Menoken Road reopened to traffic around 3:30 p.m.
