TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Shawnee Co. District Attorney Mike Kagay announced 1st degree murder charges against a second person in connection with the death of Justice Mitchell.

In a news release, Kagay said Ernest L. Williams IV, 19, faces two felony charges, including 1st Degree Murder and Distributing or Possessing with Intent to Distribute a Hallucinogenic Drug.

Kagay said Williams helped set up the planned robbery of Mitchell during a drug deal.

Lamero Dunstan, 17, is charged with 1st Degree Murder and Attempted Aggravated Robbery in the case.

Prosecutors say Dunstan planned to meet Mitchell in the Church's Chicken parking lot, near SW 10th and Billard, to purchase marijuana. The deal was reportedly arranged on Snapchat.

According to testimony in court, Dunstan got into the Dodge Durango that Mitchell was driving planning to rob him of the cash and drugs. During the course of the attempted robbery, Dunstan allegedly shot Mitchell twice.

Dunstan will stand trial as an adult.

Williams is being held on a $1 million bond. No court date is scheduled yet.
