TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Seaman high school put the brakes on roadway fatalities Thursday.

The annual event encourages students to learn about traffic safety.

Put the Brakes on Fatalities Day brings in speakers from the Kansas Speedway, the Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office, and the Kansas Highway Patrol.

They say whether you're in a vehicle, riding a bike, or even walking across the street - everyone has a responsibility to be safe.

After listening to the speakers, students were reminded of the consequences of unsafe driving with KHP vehicle rollover demonstrations.
