Riley County voters pass USD 383 Bond

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - Voters in Riley County passed a bond to build a new elementary school, expand a high school campus and update certain sports complexes.

The 2018 USD 383 Bond passed Tuesday. Multiple additions to the school district will be added. A new K-5 elementary school will be created in Blue township, as well as a new security entry at Bergman and storm shelters added to Woodrow Wilson, Theodore Roosevelt, Northview, and Bergman.

More parking is expected to be added to the middle schools, as well as expanded buildings to add 6th grade students. Secured entry points and storm shelters will be added as well.

At the MHS West campus, 9-12th grades will be under the same roof. Parking will be expanded, new tennis courts will be added and a practice field will be updated. Storm shelters will be added.
