ANN ARBOR, MI-- Today was the first official day recreational marijuana could be purchased in the state of Michigan.

Just last year, Michigan voted to make the state the 10th in the country to sell the drug for recreational purposes.

The state issued 18 licenses to both growers and processors across the state and more than a dozen additional businesses are expected to be licensed next month.

Business owners say this is something they've been working towards for years and customers hope it's just the beginning.
