RCPD arrests suspect in Tuesday's liquor store robbery

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A 21-year-old Manhattan man was arrested Friday afternoon in connection with the robbery of a Manhattan liquor store earlier in the week.

According to the Riley Co. Police Dept., Stephen Cortez was taken into custody approximately 3:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Osage St. Cortez was booked into the Riley Co. jail on a single count of aggravated robbery. His bond was set at $50,000.

According to police, officers responded at approximately 8:45 p.m. Tuesday to Fifths Liquor in the 500 block of Leavenworth St. Police also listed three other people as victims in the incident.

In all, the suspect took approximately $400 before fleeing on foot, investigators say. There were no injuries reported in the robbery.
