Police searching for woman after deadly officer-involved shooting

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Topeka Police Dept. is searching for a 26-year-old woman following a deadly officer-involved shooting

Investigators are trying to locate Chelsee Retana in connection with an aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, obstruction, and outstanding warrants.

She was last seen running south from NE Grant and Madison St. along with another woman late Tuesday morning. She's described as a white woman, standing 5'8" tall and weighing 175 lbs. She was last seen wearing a heavy brown coat.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 785-234-0007.

Topeka police said Tuesday afternoon that Jarmane Logan, 35, died at a local hospital following the shooting. He was reportedly the driver of an SUV two women were running toward after fleeing from a Topeka Police officer and Kansas Highway Patrol trooper.

Police say Logan dragging the officers in an attempt to drive away, and the trooper shot him.
