Pickleball tournament kicks off Senior Sunflower State Games

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Friday was a perfect day for the Senior Sunflower State Games with beautiful weather in the Capital City.

Hundreds of people came out to show their pickleball skills at Hughes Park Friday. Pickleball is just one of the 19 games on the tournament's docket.

The multi-sport games are meant for people aged 50 and up. It'll take place over the course of this weekend and next.

Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be distributed to the top three finishers in each age group.
