Osage Co. authorities involved in chase, standoff with person threatening suicide
Osage county authorities say a person threatening suicide ended up in a chase and standoff with deputies.
Sheriff Laurie Dunn says deputies found the person in their car around 3 p.m. Thursday near 213th and Old Hwy. 75.
Dunn says the person led deputies on a chase through a field until their car got stuck in the mud. The person refused to come out of their vehicle.
Dunn says a standoff continued for about a half hour before the person allowed emergency personnel to take them for mental evaluation.
No one was hurt.
The Kansas Highway Patrol; Kansas Wildlife, Parks and Tourism; Osage EMS; and Osage Co. Fire District #5 assisted the Osage Co. Sheriff's Office with the incident.
