Organizations hope to see the community give back on "Giving Tuesday"

After a couple of days of shopping and deals “Giving Tuesday” encourages people to donate to charitable organizations.

"It really opens up the season of giving, and it's just a great time people can support their community. And everyone has different causes they like to support. We like it when they support Capper Foundation of course,” Edie Smith with Capper Foundation explained.

Smith said donations, no matter how small, can go a long way.

"It helps us provide services to children with medically based therapies uh just to help them gain independence. And also we have adults we serve with day services programs and residential programs,” she said.

Smith said anyone can give with just a click of a button.

"We have a wish list that people can actually help purchase gifts that we need for our pediatric program or our adult services program,” she added.

She said through donations Capper hopes to continue to fill hopes and dreams.

"We recognize abilities in all people and people with disabilities are no different. They have wonderful abilities and that's what we like to do is help bring those out and help them gain an independence in whatever fashion we can,” Smith said.
