TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) --- UPDATE:

Topeka Police said the victim shot was Daniel Dirk, 29. They said the men knew each other prior to the shooting.

Colby Dean Brown, 19, has been charged with aggravated assault, battery, and criminal damage to property in relation to a shooting on the 1300 block of NE Forest Avenue. He was booked into Shawnee County Department of Corrections.

A man was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting in the Oakland neighborhood early Tuesday afternoon, according to the Topeka Police Dept.

Officers responded around 12:30 p.m. to a reported domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of NE Forest Ave. When they arrived, police located the shooting victim.

Topeka Police say shortly after the shooting, a man they believe may be linked to the shooting, was taken into custody for questioning following a traffic stop near the scene.
