TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) --- Drivers can now go both ways again across the Kansas Ave. Bridge.
On Friday, the City of Topeka announced one lane in each direction of the bridge would be open to vehicles.
To make room for those northbound motorists, southbound traffic has been reduced to a single lane. Additionally, no left turns are allowed onto the Curtis Flyoff.
Traffic has been restricted on the bridge since December when a fire damaged part of it so badly, it's no longer safe to drive on.
Investigators say a homeless camp under the north edge of the Kansas Avenue Bridge went up in flames on December 10th, destroying the camp, and damaging the bridge itself.
Officials have not said when the bridge is expected to reopen fully.
