RENO Co., Kan. (WIBW/KWCH) Buhler Public Schools says a teacher was killed Friday morning in a Reno County crash.

The district identifies the teacher as Jory Konrade.

Konrade was a teacher at Prairie Hills Middle School and a football coach at the middle school.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on K-61 between Hutchinson and Medora.

KHP says Konrade lost control of his Dodge Ram on a slick bridge and crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a semi.

The big rig's driver, Shawn Hallbauer of Inman, was not hurt.

The district said counselors would be on site Friday and services would be provided to any students who need them.

A vocal music concert scheduled for Friday evening has been rescheduled for a later date.

KHP says they worked multiple accidents along K-61, including a rollover that left a truck all the way down an embankment.
